One keyword that's very useful is google's 'before' / 'after' modifiers, which allow for filtering for date. e.g after: 2020-01-12 will only show hits from after the date specified. If I'm genuinly searching for something, I often write 'before: 201X' and iterate with the X. Combine with verbatim search and exclusions and you are good to go.

I have an idea... How about if your new to Linux don't use Arch Linux there problem is fixed. Manjaro is still Arch Linux no matter how you dress it up and is not mint for newcomers. Note Pamac isn't a package manager Just stick to ones more user-friendly Linux Mint, Fedora, Ubuntu, Deepin I also don't think making a better and more user-friendly UI makes Linux bad. Not everyone wants to use the terminal and that's OK for the most part you'll never have to. I have never used snaps and only ever used flatpacks 2 or 3 times in years of running Linux never had issues.

3 years later I can say from expirence of creating my own distro the past couple months ALL the pain points for flatpak were in FACT not a flatpak issue but a distro issue.. I have figured out its on the distro to preconfigure things so its super transparent to the user.. integrating themes to flatpak... A distro issue, making sure there are sane defaults on permissions so the user very rarely ever has to open a app like flatseal or what not.. a distro issue. the various distros out their need to start preconfiguring things for flatpak if they are aiming to be a distro for "dummies"

It’s about loyalty and identity. Never be loyal to someone or something other than God (if you believe in Him), your family, your friends, and yourself, and realize that a job does not define your identity. If you have those two things, you can greatly benefit from a job at a company. (As a security measure while you structure and upstart your own business.) Where I disagree with this video is in how simple you make entrepreneurship seem. Working for yourself and by yourself is much more difficult than being a cog in a machine for a company nowadays, where there are clear tasks and objectives, (luckily) good management, and division of labor.

Flatpack is the only good thing about Linux package management, the fact that arch, deb and fedora have there own separate non compatible packages systems is beyond fucking retarded.

I think there are two important classes of BS jobs, which shouldn't be confused, but the more cynical you are, the more likely you are to confuse them. You have jobs which could be optimized out of existence, or which no reasonable person could see the need for, and jobs which the worker doesn't believe in. I work as an engraver, and spend a lot of my day creating memorials for people who have died. I don't believe that this is a useful job. I think it's much more meaningful to commemorate the dead on your own, and not to hire someone like me to do it for you. Is my job BS? I have plenty of work to do and the people who pay for me services believe it to be useful, but I think I'm serving misplaced values.

You make it sound as if autism wasn't a real thing that ruins lives. My little brother literally cannot get a job because, although he isn't dumb, he's "weird" and whenever he is interviewed, they probably sniff the autism with some responses of his, that he thinks are prefectly normal and logical but aren't seen that way by the interviewers.

I lay tile at 20 yrs old with my fam. This is a job that feels fulfilling when youre done. It takes skill and precision. I can assure you 80% of americans wouldnt be able to handle the workload, and itd take 50% of that 5 months or more to become good at it😂

I think you have a very surface level understanding of 'bs jobs' and how many of them are actually unnecessary. Companies can be very inefficient but generally only if they are successful. Once growth stops they will start cutting departments. Also, government spending is 6 trillion, total GDP of the US is 26 trillion - most private companies are not contracted by the government.
